Note for authors - notice of intent to digitize back issues of Costume
Costume is the journal of the Costume Society. It is a scholarly, refereed, academic publication presenting current research into historic and contemporary dress.
The journal publishes articles primarily object-based, from a broad chronological period and with a worldwide remit. Costume maintains a balance between practice and theory and concentrates on the social significance of dress. Articles are welcomed from established researchers and those new to the field.
The articles published in Costume are sent out for peer-review to ensure that they are of a high standard and make a contribution to dress history. The articles are accompanied by an extensive selection of book, exhibition and conference reviews, as well as listings of new books and articles published during the year, all of which seek to reflect the diverse range of material published about dress.
Come and see us at the Costume Colloquium II: Dress for Dance!
We will be exhibiting our journals at the second biannual Costume Colloquium, a conference dedicated to the international, interdisciplinary and intercultural themes associated with all aspects of the history of fashion, dress and dance. It is being held in Florence at the Auditorium al Duomo Conference Center between 4-7th November 2010. Come to our stand to receive a 25% discount on all our books and journals in the history of costume and textiles. For more information about the conference, including how to register, please click here or email info@costume-textiles.com.
